The Wood Cellulose Hydroseeding Mulch Advantage

Our Wood Cellulose Hydroseeding Mulch (WCHM) is manufactured from clean recycled newspaper and spreads evenly upon application allowing for uniform seed and mulch distribution, creating a stable matrix for protected seed growth. Our WCHM can be used for various hydroseedng projects. For optimal performance, we recommend combining Wood Cellulose Hydroseeding Mulch with our plant based Tackifiers.

Innovation for Simple Hydroseeding Applications

Wood Cellulose Hydroseeding Mulch (WCHM) is our most economical mulch solution for the simple environment offering good performance and plant establishment.  These are some of the features that can be expected in WCHM mulch:

  • Effective in all varieties of hydroseeding equipment
  • Trouble-free mixing with water
  • Offers 20% more loading capacity when compared to standard wood mulch
  • Provides continuous and smooth application

WCHM’s typical applications include; residential and commercial landscaping, highway construction, golf courses, and more!

Application Rates

Wood Cellulose Hydroseeding Mulch (WCHM) is designed to provide excellent plant establishment on moderate slopes. The following rates are recommended for installation:

Slope Recommended Rate (kg/ha) Recommended Rate

Bags per acre
Moderate to 3:1 slope 1681 1500 30
3:1 to 2:1 slope 2242 2000 40
Greater than 2:1 slope 2802 2500 50

Installation Guidelines

WCHM is a one-step mulch product that allows the applicator to install seed, fertilizer, and mulch in one pass when required. WCHM is also designed for high tank loading capacity, allowing applicators the ability to apply more mulch per tank load. For optimal results:

  1. Fill hydroseeding tank 1/3 full with water
  2. After seed addition, begin water filling and add mulch (and tackifier if needed)
  3. Compost (if added) should be mixed at 2/3 full tank
