Mulch innovation at Synermulch has been focused on developing products that re-define mulch performance by utilizing the highest performing natural fibres available. Our manufacturing process has been customized and tailored to process many types of plant fibres, from flax and hemp, to wood, cellulose, and straw fibres.
At Synermulch, we deliberately design our mulches to closely contour to the soil surface for optimal performance this accelerates vegetative growth by maximizing seed to soil contact and sealing in soil moisture for better seedling survival.
Synermulch uses bast fibres from flax as a key component of our mulch formulas. These long, high strength natural fibres are among the strongest in the world and provide Synermulch products the advantage of being able to wrap around the contours of rough soil surfaces for maximum soil stability.
We believe the best mulch products are blends of different fibre types that allow us to tailor performance for different environments and industries based on erosion control and revegetation requirements. Our mulches are designed to excel in the most difficult climates on earth and have been used to great success in climates ranging from tropical rain forest and desert, to Canada’s far north.
Synermulch: Our Erosion Control Portfolio
Synermulch has a wide range of mulch products available via our distribution partners. These include:
Synermulch has the ability to manufacture a wide variety of hydroseeding mulches based on customer requirements. These products include blended wood and fibre mulches for traditional applications to 100% wood cellulose mulches for traditional and jet agitated hydroseeders.
Our primary innovation focus is on high performances mulches for steep slopes and difficult environments. We produce a wide range of mulches for this purpose and tailor our products to meet the requirements of our distribution partners and regional requirements.
Synermulch designs mulch to provide a high performance, lower cost alternative to erosion control blankets that is fully biodegradable. Our premium mulches have been extensively tested for erosion control performance and are consistently ranked as the one of the best in the industry by our customers.
We pride ourselves on our relationship with customers and work intensively with our partners to ensure that the best solution is chosen for the job, and all technical considerations related to maximum success are considered. Our team of chemists, biologists, and engineers pride themselves on a hands-on approach with our products.
Flax is an oilseed grain produced on the Canadian prairies for both food industrial use and produces unique high tensile bast fibres in its stem. These are the same types of fibers used to make linen and high performance components for the auto industry. Flax fibres are flexible and strong and are unique in that they improve in strength when wet. These characteristics make flax ideal for erosion control.
The strength and performance of these fibres has been known since antiquity and were an early source of inspiration for the erosion control industry. Synermulch works closely with local growers in western Canada to source the best fibres possible and has built its manufacturing capacity around being able to use these fibres to maximum effect.
